About Waxing

Waxing can be painful, but these tips will help you to make your waxing visit less sensitive as possible. Taking two ibuprofen about 30-60 minutes beforehand may help dull your pain receptors. The day of your waxing, limit your caffeine intake as it can stimulate the nervous system. It is recommended to schedule your appointment within the first two weeks after your cycle has ended. This is the time when you are less sensitive.

Waxing can be done at any time; however, keeping these hints in mind will make your visit as comfortable and less sensitive as possible. If you considering having a waxing service for a special event, consider having this area waxed one month before the occasion; this will give you an idea of how reactive your skin will be. If there is no adverse reaction, you can have the area waxed up to 48 hours before the big event.

Before waxing. The length of the hairs should be at least a quarter of an inch. Please allow hairs to grow for about two weeks or more. Before waxing, do not apply self-tanner, moisturizer, or any abrasive body or facial scrubs. Do not take a sunbath or tanning booth the same day of waxing. Certain products and medications can be contradicting for waxing services, such as Accutane, Retin-A, glycolic acid, alpha hydroxyl acid, Tazorac Avage, Differin, Strivectin, Renova, Proactive, Avita, Benzoyl Peroxide, and Salicylic acid. If any other products might be questionable to you, check with your doctor if you have any doubts.

After waxing. For 24 hours after waxing there are several recommendations "Do not": exercise, take a hot shower (warm

shower is okay), use lotions or oils, soak in the bath, go into a hot tub, apply any deodorants and perfumes, swim in the pool, ocean or lake. Please try to avoid shaving any hairs that didn't get picked by a wax. To fully benefit from a Brazilian wax it is important to wax every four weeks so that can get your hair on the same growth cycle. Hairs left behind may mean that your hair growth cycles were not synced with each other due to shaving or not keeping a waxing schedule. After 24 hours, it is recommended that you start exfoliating the area to prevent the possibility of ingrown hairs. Tend skin solution, sold by Organic Wax and Skin Care, helps to prevent ingrown hairs and irritation, recommended to use it in 24-48 hours after waxing.

*  We’re not saying your first time waxing is a walk in the park, but be sure after doing about thousands of waxing from brows to Brazilians, we got the ‘nearly-painless-as-possible’ thing down and have mastered all sorts of techniques to minimize the ‘ouch’ factor.

* Hair growth need only be 1/4 inch long to be removed, about 12 - 14 days growth depending on the individual.

*  We regret that we cannot perform waxing services on clients who are taking or using Accutane, Differin, and Retin-Aor any Rx medication from your doctor or dermatologist for that matter due to the sensitivity these products cause. Please allow at least 24 hours before exposure to the sun after your waxing service to prevent sensitive skin from burning.

 About Skin Care;

Smooth The Texture of The Skin, Even Skin Tone

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion, also known as microderm, is one of the most comfortable and most effective anti-aging treatments you can get. Its benefits are many: microderm softens fine lines and wrinkles, helps to smooth coarsely textured skin, decreases the appearance of scarring, decreases pore size, and reduces superficial hyper-pigmentation, also known as age spots.

Microdermabrasion also makes it easier for high-tech skin care products to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and help build collagen, which gives skin its youthful appearance.

Microdermabrasion is inherently powerful mechanical exfoliation with an expensive machine, generally either the original crystal microdermabrasion technology or the newer diamond-tip microdermabrasion.

Both work by removing the uppermost layer of dead skin cells from the face, chest, and hands. Right microdermabrasion is usually done in a day spa, medical spa or specialized skin care studio. It gives results you can't achieve with a home microdermabrasion kit, which is a scrub for the face that is often too abrasive and can even irritate skin.

 The Benefits of Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion can achieve dramatic results, but it is highly dependent on the skill of the esthetician. In general, it's best if you get it from an esthetician you already know and trust.

For the best results, it is generally recommended to get a series of treatments. Your esthetician should be able to advise the number that is appropriate for your skin type and condition. A typical protocol is six treatments about 10 to 14 days apart.

Because the machine can be adjusted depending on skin type and condition, even people with sensitive skin can get treatment from a skilled esthetician.

It is important to realize that you have taken off the outermost layer of the skin, which is also its protection, so this is not the time to go to the beach. Be careful with your skin a few days after the microdermabrasion treatment: don't do vigorous exercise and don't expose your skin to the sun. Wear a gentle physical sunscreen, even if its a cloudy day.

How Microdermabrasion Works

The crystal microdermabrasion device consists of a compressor that draws in air through a hand-held wand. When the wand touches the skin, a vacuum is created. Aluminum oxide crystals, also known as corundum (the second-hardest mineral next to diamonds) blast across the skin’s surface, picking up dead surface skin cells along the way. The crystals and dead skin cells are quickly sucked up through a different tube in the same wand and go to a disposal bag.

The depth of exfoliation is controlled by the strength of the vacuum and crystal flow, which is determined by the esthetician. He or she makes two passes over your skin, sometimes a third if your skin is thick enough or if there is an area that needs special attention, like a scar or brown spot.

Crystal microdermabrasion can be uncomfortable, especially around the sensitive tissue of the mouth and nose, but it should not be painful. The esthetician should be checking in with you about your comfort level during the treatment. If anything hurts, speak up.

Diamond-tip microdermabrasion uses the same vacuum technology and hand-held wand, but there aren't any crystals moving through the tip. The diamond tip itself exfoliates the skin, and the vacuum whisks the dead skin away. There are many different tips with various grades of roughness, and the esthetician chooses the correct one for your skin type and condition.

Diamond-tip microdermabrasion is much less uncomfortable but achieves the same results. It is also usually better for sensitive skin.

What Is DERMAPLANING?

Dermaplaning is a gentle skin treatment that is performed by using a surgical blade that gently scrapes the outermost layers of the epidermis, therefore, ridding it of dead skin cells, impurities, and debris. This treatment is an excellent way to exfoliate the skin and to regenerate new skin cells, thus leaving the complexion smooth, soft and vibrant.

Is Dermaplaning right for me?

If you have dull, dry, dehydrated and/or congested skin, it is often because you have a surface barrier of dead cells that are not allowing topical products to penetrate. At the same time, impurities are trapped, and underlying new cells are unable to surface. Once your skin is dermaplaned, it accelerates and aids in the sloughing off of the dead skin, that barrier is removed, and the skin begins to respond to the skin products being used. Also, it can expel the impurities from within creating healthier and revitalized skin. Dermaplaning may also be used to reduce the appearance of acne scars. By skimming away the surrounding skin, the noticeable difference between the area levels is evened out.

How many treatment do I need?

Treatments only take about 30 minutes, and regular treatments are scheduled for about 3-4 weeks apart. Blading the skin removes about 2-3 weeks worth of dead skin cells.

Won’t the hairs on the face grow back thicker?

No. The hair on the face is called vellous hairs, and it is physiologically impossible to grow back thicker. Two types of hair grow on our bodies: Vellous (tiny translucent blonde hair) and Terminal (thicker hair that grows under the arms, pubic area, eyebrows, mustache and beard for men and legs). Vellous hair when cut or removed will grow back the same. The structure of the hair does not become damaged. Therefore it is impossible to alter. Terminal hair is physiologically coarse. When Terminal hair is cut, it grows back the same way…coarse.

Peels are accelerated exfoliation, having the immediate benefit of a general brightening of the skin’s appearance through the removal of surface proteins.

Lactic  acid peel is gentle, safe and well tolerated by most skin types. Lactic acid is not only effective for lessening the appearance of hyperpigmentation but is also considered hydrating. There is no downtime and clients should expect little or no physical peeling.

DermaFrost peel is effective fro helping address acne and is considered self neutralizing. clients can expect a mild to moderate amount of physical peeling.

Alpha Beta peel is a combination of lactic and salicylic acid, considered gently and very well tolerated and at the same time extremely effective. It will leave the skin soft, more even toned and luminous.

MandeliClear peel system was developed specifically for attenuating pigmentation issues associated with darker skin complexion. A “half Jessner” peel with added benefits of mandelic(almonds and wild cherries) acid makes the peel effective for brightening pigmentation associated with acne, melasma or sun damaged skin.

Anti-Age Management

What Is MICROCURRENT?

Microcurrent, meaning mild electrical current, is a near duplicate electrical current to that which your body generates on its own. It is so slight that it would take one million microcurrent machines to light a 40 watt light bulb and therefore generally sub-sensory. It was discovered that an injured or damaged tissue in your body, disrupts the natural flow of electricity generated by it. Therefore, preventing or delaying your body from healing itself. When microcurrent is applied to the injured or damaged area, it restores the natural flow of electrical current, and therefore the healing can begin.

How Does It Apply To Aesthetics?

If you have skin with fine lines or wrinkles, sagging muscles or lost elasticity, this merely is damaged skin. Microcurrent can restore the lost energy to your tissues and thereby turning back the hands of time in your skin. When you get a microcurrent facial, the facial muscles and your skin are giving a workout that stimulates collagen and elastin production. Collagen and elastin are two essential proteins needed for the skin to remain youthful and glowing. A microcurrent facial is, in essence, a non-surgical facelift that will leave your skin looking amazing.

Is It Safe?

Pregnant women and people with any heart condition will be prevented from receiving the treatment. However, a person in relatively good health can get this wonderful treatment without any side effects.
